The gates are open!
After 26 years of tracking down permits and making sure that tragedy didn't strike again, Christo and Jeanne-Claude have finally completed their "gates" project in Central Park, NYC. Christo and Jeanne-Claude are known for their larger than life pieces, such as the The Pont Neuf Wrapped, Surrounded Islands, and Valley Curtain. The fabric will be up and the gates officially open tomorrow, Feb 12, free to the public, and removed on February 28th. A diagram of the gates in the park is on the web. It should be a beautiful piece - even the drawings are mesmerizing.
Looks like we will next see C&JC in Arkansas working on Over the River.
