Fashion Institute of Technology

Besides the fact that I just adore that there is such a thing as the Fashion Institute of Technology (with a stellar example of the "fashion over function" website which is now de rigour for arty establishments on the web - can you figure out how to find the "museum" link? Probably not - but did it look pretty while you tried? :), I also adore the new exhibit they will have on display, showcasing the 40s fashion in all its graduer, simplicity, and glamour.

NPR interviewed some woman talking about the show and saying "I just love that piece - I'd wear it with a pair of jeans, a sparkly purse, and be on my way..." It was one of my "d'oh - is that what I sound like?" moments, which is also de rigour when hearing people mimic the overly fashion conscious...

But the pieces are divine. I may have to find my way to DC this summer...

Judging from their web-site it looks like the Fashion Institute of Technology has been focusing more on the fashion and less on the technology.
