Online Boutiques
I am routinely impressed by the quality of boutiques coming online. Everything from coffee (isn't it fascinating that almost every one of those coffee shops has a pretty sophisticated online presence?) to small designer labels and one man boutiques in the middle of the country seem to have an online presence. I know I sound very mid-nineties being surprised by this, but given that Club Monaco still hasn't figured out how to get its stuff online and for sale, it astounds me when some small place like LA Fairchild has managed to get its act together.
Some particularly nice examples of innovative web shopping sites:
- A blog with "the one item you need to buy based on my post" at Miss Nics
- A Parisian hotel which will walk you through the floors to buy old vintage Parisian and otherwise goods at Paris Hotel Boutique
- A fashion umbrella store at Tray 6
- Custom made jewelry with old print or your photographs courtesy of Bijou Graphique
- Minimalist modern jewelry by amy tavern
- Vintage designer goods from a shop in Missouri called Enoki World
- Chocolate as art by Mariebelle chocolates
- A boutique which aranges its online clothes as "looks" like a storefront window - Blaec
I could keep going and probably will, but since I was just surfing on Paris Hotel Boutique and cursing Club Monaco, it seemed appropriate.
