No Brand T Shirts
I've been getting the American Apparel email for ages and noticing their brand slowly expand from just plain Jane (and John) "beefy-T"-esque t-shirts into more styled t-shirts, lounge pants, and so on. But it looks like they are finally expanding beyond wholesale. For ages the only really good way to get their wares, outside of the Internet, was to show up at a rock concert and buy a shirt from the band (if you have any shirt with the label "Classic Girl" or "Standard American", then you own American Apparel gear).
But, that's all changing now that they are on a massive expansion spree into proper brick and mortar retail. A number of new stores are opening across the country, including one in Seattle and Boston, which is ultra-exciting. I'm not nearly as world-conscious as I should be when I shop, so I like the idea that they are not only sweatshop-free, but that they are putting an end to the fallacy that the only way to make quality and cheap goods is the ship the labor overseas and do it for next-to-nothing wages. Plus, I'm not a fan of advertising for the brand of clothing that I buy, so it's nice to be able to stock up on a hundred different styles of shirts and have them truly be basics... The funny things is, once you've shopped in their store you can really see their aesthetic. It struck me that they don't really need an overt brand, since their penchant for jersey material and their extremely simple lines are actually more of a tell-tale sign then any logo would be.

Hi Jill-
I noticed this post regarding American Apparel. I thought you might be interested in our website since we carry many American Apparel products and at lower prices than the AA site and stores.
